“No matter what anyone tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”

Dead Poets Society (1989) follows an unconventional English teacher, portrayed by Robin Williams, who inspires his students to defy conformity, embrace individuality, and seize the day. Through poetry, they embark on a journey of self-expression and the pursuit of their dreams.

It’s 128 minutes of blunt-force trauma to your heart.

I think about this movie frequently when I sit down to write copy. Too many companies would rather blend in, play it safe, and do what everyone else is doing.

No one remembers those companies.

And they sure as hell don’t become passionate advocates for their products.

If you want to build a following and become a household name, you have to lead with passion and break free from the pack.

Next time you sit down to ideate a campaign or define your brand, remind yourself:

”The powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.”

We miss you, Robin.
